ATTENTION PLEASE!

This Friday's Bible Quiz has been postphoned to next Friday, 16th of April. I think the reason has to do with the printing of the questions papers, sorry for the inconvenience caused! (on the other hand, our last minute cramming-info time is extended.)

But fret not, THIS FRIDAY (9th April), we will still meet up for CU activity, we'll be having some FUN! =D

Here's some food for the soul:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”- Galatians 2:20

Hello guys! How's your Sunday? I hope it's been awesome!

OK, if you came to Friday's activity you will know that Joyce asked us to memorise 2 verses from the bible. And at the next activity whoever that can memorise the verses will get a special secret treat...*wink wink*

The 1st verse is the theme for our CU this year, it's taken from Matthew 5:14-16. (It's on the banner at top)

14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16

The 2nd verse is this week's memory verse, from the book of 1st John.

18Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
1st John 3:18

So Let us B.O.B for Jesus in our daily lives by our actions and the way we behave.

All the best in your Ujian Bulanan and continue to pray for CU and everyone around you, even the one's you don't know!

3 keys

there are many promises on earth
promises you make between friends
promises from parents
promises from other stuff and so on

But

did you know God also has promises for us?
These promises and rewards
It is up to us to unlock them and claim them

We take for granted
to have all the wonderful promises
just because we are Christians.
If you think that way, its time to wake up.

Open your eyes,
open your heart,
listen.

there are ways to unlock to claim the promises God has made for us,
to gain the rewards that He has provided.

To do that there are 3 task,
3 keys

1) generous giving
share what you have, help others, but don't brag about it.
theres no need to let the whole world know the good deeds your doing.
Let God himself know, and thats enough.

2)Powerful prayer
Pray silently, consistently.
There's no need to do it in front of an audience, putting in flowery words and posing a look of total piousness when doing it.
Do it with a sincere heart, and that's enough.

3)Faithful fasting
Fast, not necessarily on food. But on the stuff like watching TV or playing the internet, that's fasting too.
and you needn't tell anybody else
you needn't put on the tortured look on your face
Just let God know, and that's enough.

now you have 3 keys
its up to you to unlock the promises and rewards God has made for us.

~extracted from Matthew 6: 1-18~

great sermon from my pastor, so I just wanted to share it too =D

Busy?

Satan called a world-wide convention. In his opening address to his evil angels, he said,
'We can't keep the Christians from going to church.
We can't keep them from reading their Bibles & knowing the truth.
We can't even keep them from conservative values.
But we can do something else.
We can keep them from forming an intimate, abiding experience in Christ.
If they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken.

So let them go to church,
let them have their conservative lifestyles,
but steal their time,
so they can't gain that experience in Jesus Christ.
This is what I want you to do, angels.
Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior & maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!'

"How shall we do this?" shouted his angels.
"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life & invent UN-numbered schemes to occupy their minds,' he answered.
"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, then, borrow, borrow, borrow.
Convince the wives to go to work & the husbands to work 6 or 7 days a week, 10-12 hrs. a day, so they can afford their lifestyles.
Keep them from spending time with their children.
As their family fragments, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work.'

'Over stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still small voice.
Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive, to keep the TV, the VCR, & their CD's going constantly in their homes.
And see to it that every store & restaurant in the world plays music constantly.
This will jam their minds & break that union with Christ.'
'Fill their coffee tables with magazines & newspapers.
Pound their minds with the news 24 hrs. a day.
Invade their driving moments with billboards.
Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, sweepstakes, mail order catalogues, & every kind of newsletter & promotional offering, free products, services, & false hopes.'

'Even in their recreation, let them be excessive.
Have them return from their recreation exhausted, disquieted & unprepared for the coming week.
Don't let them go out in nature.
Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, concerts & movies instead.

'And when they meet for spiritual fellowship,
involve them in gossip & small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences & unsettled emotion.'

'Let them be involved in soul winning.
But crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Christ.
Soon they will be working in their own strength,
sacrificing their health & family unity for the good of the cause.'

It was quite a convention in the end.
And the evil angels went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busy, busy, busy & rush here & there.

Has the devil been successful at his scheme? You be the judge.

Here is the definition of "BUSY":

B - being

U - under

S - Satan's

Y - yoke.

His goal-to take our minds and hearts off Christ then steer us toward the cares of the world.
The Lord wants us to enjoy life, but He must be first.
If we are too busy for God, then we are just too B-U-S-Y.

Task 2

Hello loves! Remember the 'challenge' I gave you guys in the last Friday activity? I hope you guys are keeping up with it. For those of you who were MIA, here's what the 'challenge's all about.

PRAY for any random person each day.

Simple right? Prayer can be defined as simple as talking to God and so this task is especially fun, since we all love to talk about people, don't we? =P So everyone, let's start the habit of praying for one another, prayer is power! By praying for another person, you are not only blessing that person, but you are also increasing your faith in God, so it's a win-win situation!

Ephesians 6:18

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

GONG XI FA CHAI!

A-TI-SHOO!

~Annoucement: This Friday there will be CU activity. There has been rumours going about that this Friday would not be a schooling day, but it is a school day so wohoo, we shall meet again in 5A3 at 1.30 pm this Friday! Come expecting the EXPECTED! Hint hint: the titleeeee.

~Next up I would like to remind you guys to memorize the theme Scripture of Burn Out Bright, Matt 5:14-16. Let's see who snags the secret reward!

~And last but not the least, I just wanna encourage you guys to love yourself, just as Christ has loved you. Sometimes it's easy for us to show love for others but when it comes to ourselves, how much do we truly realize what we mean to Him? Well, just a question for us to ponder and a psalm to end this post!

Psalms 8:3-6

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet.

Toodles, loves!

P.S. Come devotion tomorrow! It's good to start the day with the Lord. =)
